Yaa is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher. She grew up in Newcastle Upon Tyne before moving to London to study, completing her PhD in computational biology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical medicine.

Recently, she has been developing a community-based practice, incorporating computational biology methods into her music making in an effort to explore decolonial approaches to biodata and create spaces to re-centre wonder, connection and appreciation of life on Earth.
